Azurae:

Because in every one of these versions of a show, what we're trying to model for these listeners that we're nurturing who come in our world is is a way of being in the world. Curiosity, a learning, a desire to expand, and you're going first.

Azurae:

Welcome to The Message Connection, a podcast dedicated to exploring all the angles that it takes to get your message to the masses. I'm your host, Azurae Phelps, and with over twenty years of experience in the world of production, I've seen behind the scenes of everything from recording studios to the Super Bowl halftime show and everything in between. Week after week, we will dig in to the medium of podcasting, as well as host conversations with entrepreneurs, business owners, coaches, artists, creatives, educators, and more to see how they got to the heart of their message place where they were ready to share it. Let's get into it.

Azurae:

Welcome back

Azurae:

to the message connection. I'm excited to share a clip this week with you from a master class I did a couple months ago, where I was encouraging the attendees to tap into their own magnificence. Often, when we're starting a new project, like a YouTube channel or a podcast, we forget how much we already know and how much we have to offer the world. And so I walked the attendees through how to go about doing this and then gave them some additional ideas and wanted to share them with you here on the podcast. Hope you enjoy.

Azurae:

Thanks so much for listening.

Azurae:

Can I come up with? I mean, that's an exercise I would really encourage you. If you take nothing away from today, get with yourself for fifteen minutes and just on a list, write all the things that you know that you care about, that you can flow well on. Start there in your own confidence to prove to yourself how much you have to offer the world, to prove to yourself and remind yourself of what you already know that you that you will be able to flow on. And and from there, then you get to take a step back.

Azurae:

This is thinking like a producer. Then you get to take a step back, and you say, oh, wow. Okay. Let's see. I know Ryan can speak about the challenge of working from home, building a business with a family, what like, that there's honor in that, that there's integrity there, that there are tactics and skills there that that, you know, his what his journey has been about.

Azurae:

So if I'm over here on my list and I'm like, who do I know already in my world and in my network that that would be like a match for that? There there is a simple structure that you can you know, just just to challenge yourself. Again, we're in that think like a producer thing for a minute here. We can do this ourselves. Absolutely.

Azurae:

And and the exercise of that gives you the chance. I love a simple structure of you experimenting with what kind of show you like to create. Because while we do wanna attract listeners, we wanna bring people into our world, you also, again, have to continue to want to show up for your own podcast. You have to continue to show up. So another thing on that think like a producer is to consider what are what are a few different structures of show you could do?

Azurae:

There's you just sharing your expertise. I would encourage you to write this down if you are a note taker. You sharing your expertise, just riffing. I'm gonna riff on this. It can be fifteen minutes, twenty minutes.

Azurae:

We're not we don't have to do an hour. A Q and A style show. If you have people who've ever asked you about any one of these topics, You've got your list of topics you know you can talk about. Now create a list of questions people have asked you over all these years. Nobody in this room is new.

Azurae:

Nobody in this room is a newbie. I know people have been asking you questions. They've been asking you about your business. They've been asking you about how you did x y z. What are the questions that they're asking you all the time?

Azurae:

And, hey, in your Facebook group, in your in groups that you're a part of, do an Ask campaign in a similar way that we would use let's not reinvent the wheel, guys. We already have a lot of things that feed us information that people are asking for and desire to learn. So we've got our topics that we know we can talk about at length, questions people have asked us, and in and in between there, we also have who who stands out to you. Maybe you got a highlighter pen of people in your network, in your universe that could speak about those things with you. You could interview them.

Azurae:

Now we already have three styles of show. We have the personal riff, I call it. You're just riffing. You're talking about your expertise. We have interviews.

Azurae:

Who are those peep who are the people on that list where you're like, man, I know they're with me in that, and we could talk about that for a while. And then a q and a style show. And listen, you could have you could have a colleague or a friend kinda chitchat with you, ask you the questions, position you like an emcee and at cohost with you for that episode. You could have you could just do it yourself. You can make up questions.

Azurae:

I mean, if some, you know, Sally from Peoria wonders if I mean, if you wanna get, you know and and we can there's nowhere to go but up from here because you can get a Google phone number and people can call in. You can, you know I mean, there's there's again, there there are tiers here where we can go. And then then there's another version of of an episode, which is like, what are the things that have impacted you in your business? It's a little bit like the riff, but is there a book? You know, a a seminar that you went to, a just a a way that has equipped or changed your mindset?

Azurae:

Because in every one of these versions of a show, what we're trying to model for these listeners that we're nurturing who come in our world is is a way of being in the world. We want some model of curiosity, a learning, a desire to expand, and you're going first. You're so so, yes, we wanna be an expert in our field, but we also wanna be lifelong learners. Podcast listeners are learners. They wanna grow.

Azurae:

They wanna be nurtured by you. So, the more that you lead out as the first curious person, the more you give the your listeners permission to be curious, to lean in, to want to

Azurae:
